GREAT NORTHERN BERRIES
We're very excited to be entering our fourth year at Great Northern Berries, located at Wayside Farm in North Sandwich, NH. We have expanded our selection of fruit plants each year, having started with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and our specialty, Honeyberries.
We are open for business!. We can no longer take orders for pick-up - too late in the season to ship them safely - so come visit and browse our great selection.
We now offer:
Lingonberries: If you are looking for a new berry, evergreen shrub, and or ground-cover to add to your landscape this fall, you should really consider Lingonberries. You might recognize them by another name as they also go by Mountain Cranberry, Cowberry, and Foxberry.
Chester Thornless Blackberries: Great all-around blackberry with productive canes that yield berries in July for perfect for fresh-eating, preserves, and baking.
Dolgo Crabapple Tree: A large and lovely crabapple variety which does well as a specimen tree in your yard, used as a windbreak, or for wildlife and riparian plantings. As attractive as this well-known tree is, it’s just as valued for its juicy fruit that is sure to attract birds and wildlife. Sweeter and larger than other crabapples, the fruit is excellent for eating fresh, making pies, butter, jams, jellies, ciders and sauces.
Our Fruit Products have gone beyond fresh, frozen, and PYO fruit to include ice cream, jams, baked goods, and WINE! We now sell wines, some made with our fruit, by local vintners Hermit Woods Winery and Sap House Meadery. Several wine tastings will occur throughout the season. The first tasting is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 3 - 6 PM. and will feature wines made with our berries.
We hope to see you soon!
